Down and Dirty with Dave

During the summer months my wife spends every weekend doing yard work to keep my home and yard looking nice. Mowing, trimming, weeding, edging, and other stuff that looks like hard work. So when the winter months come around wouldn't you think that I deserve a well earned vacation from the yard....I do! Well apparently my neighbors don't believe this to be true. You see they have not one but three large maple trees and these trees have about as many leaves as Hooter's has wings.

It's not that I have anything against maple trees but they have leaves that fall during the winter months. I wouldn't mind this if they fell in my neighbor's yard but instead more than half of these seem to land in my yard.

Ok I know what your thinking, calm down no big deal. Well let me tell you the thing that really pisses me off is the fact that my neighbor will come out to rake the leaves and only rake the ones on her side of the yard. It  makes me want to scream "hey lady, how about cleaning up your mess in my yard before my wife has to". If I wanted to have winter yard work then I would have told my wife to plant maple trees in my yard as well....but I didn't!! I want to rest in the winter. I have her put my lawn mower away. I tell her to clean all my gardening tools. I lock the shed.

I DON"T WANT TO WATCH MY WIFE RAKE SOMEONE ELSES LEAVES OFF MY LAWN.

So to all of you maple tree owners out there please have some consideration for your neighbors and clean up your mess or I will be forced to send my kids out to play with their water balloon shooter. So that when you get home in the evenings you will be greeted with little brightly colored pieces of broken balloons all over your yard.

I'd have my wife clean up their mess but they didn't fall in my yard!
