Dear J  Pat and any responsible adult, My feelings may not be standard thinking, but I believe in our god given, fore father granted right to keep and bear arms. I firmly believe that this is what has kept us as a free society (see article), I have unfortunately had three instances when I was on the wrong or right end of a gun, the first time I was two years old and unable to fight back, the result of that episode was two members of my family were dead and two were seriously injured. The guy that did this went to prison and is out in my lifetime, raising his grandkids and living a full life.

The only two times I have felt compelled to use a firearm in self defense were never written about in the news or talked about at six o'clock, this is because I took care of stopping a crime by being armed and ready to protect my family, the perp's ( as it were ) simply decided that I was to much trouble because I had the ability to put the barrel of a 357 magnum right in the middle of there forehead, cock the hammer and let them know that their was only a six pound hammer pull away from sending them to the great big cesspool in the sky, HOW MANY PEOPLE QUIETLY TAKE OF BUSINESS, I think it's bigger than we all think, I felt no need to alert the police or the media, I was just glad that my family and I were safe and I felt very strongly that if I had run to my landscaping shed and grab a rake to defend my family the outcome may have newsworthy.
